Sept 30th Prompt 8

BIG BIG BIG stuff this month, so I apologize for the lengthy post!! I promise it will be WORTH all the reading!
Kris at Ruby Street Designs is our bonus sponsor this month!! She is sending BEAUTIFUL vintage ephemera from Australia! (she ships internationally too, ladies!!)

Our Design Team sponsored prize is from KAMMIE this month!! You can check out her prize in the sidebar! As always, to be entered to win one of our goodies, you simply need to link to your page or project using all or some of the three part prompt.
ON TOP OF THESE PRIZES... October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!! We gutter girlz just couldn't let BOOBS go unmentioned!! One of our past Guest Designers is sponsoring a prize in honor of this month, and your boobs!! Tanya will be giving up some yummy goodies to the winner of a drawing SPECIAL for those who make a $5.00 donation to the Susan G. Koman foundation in our name!! We've created a group there, that you can donate under, and we ask that if you make a donation, you also take part in being passionately PINK with us on Oct. 20th!! (I've even changed my blog to pink this month) Make your $5.00 donation, and join us on Oct. 20th in being Passionately Pink!! Let's SAVE SECOND BASE!! CLICK HERE to join in the fun, and be entered to win Tanya's goodies!! (photo of said goodies to be posted in the next couple of days)

This month is going to be FULL of fun!! I'm so excited, I'm sick to my stomach. When we first started Gutter Girlz, one of the things I did, was to link to OTHER challenge blogs from GutterGirlz blog. I knew there was room for everyone, and wanted to share our traffic with them. There are AMAZING challenges to be had out there, and they HAD to be shared. I thought, why not have a link list for you, right here on GutterGirlz? That idea led to another even BIGGER one. What if... we challenged design teams FROM those other challenge blogs? A design team swap of sorts! Our team would take on THEIR challenge on THEIR blog, and their team would take on OUR challenge here on GutterGirlz!! Great for BOTH teams, and fun to boot! Luckily, the FIRST team I contacted about this was TOTALLY ON BOARD!! Are you READY!?!? They ROCKED this challenge, people.
Please welcome....

CATEGORY STORIES!!!

Category Stories' Design Team has taken on this week's challenge, and WE will be featured on their blog TOMORROW taking on the challenge they gave us!!
This month, we thought it might be fun to make our challenge a little more geared toward the bravery and struggles of those who have fought, are fighting, have lost and won the battle of cancer.
The PROMPT:
I am not AFRAID
The SONG:
Bring on the Rain by JoDee Messina
The TECHNIQUE/PRODUCT
Water
Even though this challenge is in honor of breast cancer awareness, your project does NOT have to be about this.
Here is what the gals from Category Stories did with our prompt!! Be sure to hop over to their AWESOME challenge blog, and see what we've done over there!! They post challenges on the 1st of every month. Be sure to give a shout out while you are there, and tell them you saw them HERE, in the GUTTER!!

The song theme of Bring on the Rain in this months Gutter challenge was perfect for these dusty photos I took this week – the worst dust storm in 40 years apparently, due to the horrid drought that is afflicting my part of the world. Anyway, I cannot wait until the rain comes good and proper! BRING IT BABY!

This one really hit close to home. My DH had two aunts pass due to breast cancer. I was reminded of their strong words about being checked and not being afraid of the outcome.
